Comment financer votre OBNL par le BITCOIN à Montréal ou ailleurs

The KWS conference is already there. This second edition as the previous one provide high level experts from several domains. One of the key question we want to address this year is the positive impact of Bitcoin. Thus we are glad to present this Panel titled:

SAVING THE WORLD WITH BITCOIN:

How Crypto-Currencies Are Transforming Non-Profit Campaigns

Today, non-profit organizations spend more than 20% of their transactional costs in overhead. Credit card donation processing fees, domestic banking fees and international fund transfer fees are part of the challenges charities have to deal with, making it increasingly expensive to process grants, and almost impossible for donors to track their money, particularly in international philanthropy. It is in this context that crypto-currencies like the Bitcoin represent an unprecedented advantage for fundraising campaigns. Still untapped by the conventional financial system, crypto-currencies, unlike other forms of electronic payments, require very little transaction costs and allow for the collect of micro-donations without any geographical limitation. This represents an excellent opportunity for non-profits and activists willing to raise funds through crowdfunding, for social causes, while maximizing their geographical scope and minimizing their costs.

What are the benefits and challenges of such an innovation? How does this technology fit into the traditional mode of operation of charities, their funding model, their accounting and legal structure? How do crypto-currencies change the way we help save the world?

  • How do crypto-currencies work and what are the main pros and cons?
  • Is the technology safe for non-profits and charitable organizations? How can it be implemented?
  • How do media and recent events affect the adoption of crypto-currencies?
  • How can the power of transparency allow donors to track their money?
  • What are the legal and regulatory challenges?
  • Will crypto-currencies really transform our economy or is it just a trend?
  • What is the future of philanthropy?
